Suffering from foot pain after walking in high heels? Here are some remedies!

15.06.17

Walking in high-heels is a requirement when your job is to look stunning and seduce a guy with just one sexy look. But walking in stilettos can be a huge pain in your…feet, especially when your schedule is extremely busy and you don’t have time for a break.

At the end of a long, exhausting day, after you’ve looked fabulous in your gorgeous high-heels, your feet can go through something resembling a hangover! And I bet you know what I’m talking about! That feeling of exhaustion, the swelling, the redness, the soreness and the desire to walk only in comfortable fluffy slippers for the rest of your life….yes, that is a high-heels hangover and it can be really painful and it can also mess up your further schedule if your feet are so sore that you can’t put heels on again.

Here are a few of our suggestions that will help you relieve the pain and get back on your feet in no time:

1.      Make the surface of your shoes more comfortable

Because the hard surface of the interior of your shoe can put a lot of pressure on your feet, try softening that a little with some help from the drugstore. Pad your shoes with some insoles, because they act by absorbing the shock from when your feet touch the ground and help better distribute your weight across your entire feet, not only on your toes.

2.      If the pain is bad, try ibuprofen

Ibuprofen has an anti-inflammatory effect, easing the pain and eliminating the inflammation from your feet. If you want a more natural cure, try a tablet of arnica, also known as nature’s aspirin. It will also help you with the inflammation!

3.      Offer your feet a spa-treat

At the end of the day, when you come back home, prepare a nice bath to soak your feet in. Put warm water, a few drops of essential oils, like peppermint or basil and just put your feet in there, allowing the muscles to relax. You could also try adding some Epsom salt into the mix, because the magnesium from the salt acts by reducing the inflammation and the camps in our feet.

4.      A pedicure is always a great idea

A well-done pedicure will get your feet back in shape in no time. Just let your feet be pampered, while all the nasty dead skin and calluses disappear and finish it all with a new, refreshing nail polish.

Add a massage into the mix and your feet are going to be in heaven, because the masseuse will hit all those nasty, sore spots and alleviate muscle pain.

5.      Stretching is a miracle cure for sore feet

By stretching your legs into the morning you’re getting the blood flowing again and you’re also lengthening your muscles.

So, first thing in the morning, after the bathroom routine is to get your bare feet on the ground, bend down and touch your toes. Keep your legs straight and stay in this position for a couple of seconds. Get back up and repeat the move three times. Another move you could try is to spread your legs, put your hands on the floor, in front of your feet, and keep your bottom stretching towards the ceiling.

6.      Treat your blisters

Do not let an open wound unattended! Clean it up, apply disinfectant and then place a band-aid on it. After that, make sure to clean your shoes not only on the outside, but also on the inside, for bacteria and dust.

Follow our advice and you’ll be back riding those high heels in no time. Just take really good care of your hygiene and remember to give your feet a well-deserved rest from time to time!
