How to Become a Professional Escort (I)

02.05.14

A luxury escort’s lifestyle can be extremely tempting, but like any business it is best entered carefully and after some planning in advance. The first trick is to learn a little bit more about the industry. Read some articles and blogs, meet and talk to other escorts, and see what the trade is all about. After you’ve done that, ask yourself a couple of important questions:

Am I ready to commit to this business? In order to answer this, you need to understand what being an escort means. You will be paid to be a companion. It’s not just a physical relationship; it’s also quite psychological/emotional. Are you ready to be somebody’s everybody and everything for several hours per day? The job can be exhausting, but the pay is worth it, and if you’re a people-person, you’ll also gain a lot of personal fulfilment out of making others happy.

Who will know? This is a big issue; who will you tell about your new profession? While keeping your job a secret might sound tempting, it isn’t an easy task to achieve. Will you tell your parents, boyfriend/husband or children? How will they react? Try to predict their reactions and test the waters somehow, but know in advance that both secrecy and truthfulness are tricky things in the escort business. Be prepared for their reactions.

Why do I want to be an escort? There’s no one ‘right’ reason to get into the trade. Every escort has had their motivations, but it’s better to know in advance what yours is. Don’t beat around the bush. Are you doing it because you feel sexy or you really enjoy the physical aspect of the job? Are you doing it for the money? Are you doing it to be your own boss and pick your own work hours? Whatever the reasons, understand that they might change over time and try to always acknowledge your motivations, old and new.

Do I have the right personality for this? Try to ascertain what your limitations are going to be, whether they’re of a sexual nature or otherwise. Be honest with yourself and your expectations, and know that if you change your mind at any point during the process, it is okay to go back. A strong and independent character is crucial for this business.

Do I understand the rules of the game? When all of the preparatory psychological and emotional questions are dealt with, it’s time to think about your wellbeing. In making all your choices in this business, try to remain confident. Safety is of utmost concern. Keep yourself healthy, inform a third person of your whereabouts when meeting a client, and know that saying ‘no’ is perfectly understandable when you feel uncomfortable and should be respected. Once you feel safe and relaxed, you will also be able to satisfy your customers.

After you’re done with answering these questions, you’re ready for a little bit of fieldwork. In our next article, we will be discussing the pros and cons of being an independent escort versus working in an agency, as well as what each entails. Stay tuned!
