Get Inspired: Erotic Literature

29.06.14

With so many great companions on the block, marketing everything they’ve got, plus lots of pornstars getting into escorting, it can be difficult to keep your game up. However, ladies and gents, there are dozens of great sources of inspiration to spice up your encounters, and we thought we’d recommend a little sexy reading for you today.

Now, if you’re sceptical, just bear a little with us. We’re sure you’ve seen all the porn, you’ve studied all the moves, you’ve seen so many customers by now that you know what makes everyone tick. But we all know that escorting isn’t just about the horizontal tango. Being a companion is a mix of being a friend, a lover, a confidant, and in order to do that with such a variety of individuals, you always have to be one step ahead of the game.

Erotic literature can easily inspire you in your encounters. After all, you kind of have to be a different character with every customer. So why not update your little black book with a couple of tips and tricks from our favourite erotic writers?

1. Anaïs Nin is best remembered as an erotic diarist. She documented her sexual encounters in detail and with great emotion, providing a deeply explorative journey into relationships and romantic encounters. Her partners included prominent authors, visual artists, and even psychoanalysts such as Otto Rank, who was closely connected to Sigmund Freud. As one of the first women to begin exploring erotica and still one of the most relevant figures to write erotica, Nin is a must-have in your book shelf. “Delta of Venus”, “Henry & June” and “Little Birds” are some of her best works.

2. The Marquis de Sade and Leopold von Sacher-Masoch are the two writers whose names have led to the coining of the term sadomasochism. Now, whether you’re into BDSM or not, their novels are excellent reading material. Much lighter than today’s SM scene, Sade and Sacher-Masoch provide an exploration into the sexual psyche more than anything. “Venus in Furs” and “Justine” are a great edition to your summer reading list.

3. Last but not least is Vladimir Nabokov’s “Lolita”, which offers an interesting blend between innocence and sin, infatuation and seduction. It questions morality with every page, and will help you understand certain fetishes more.

We hope this list has left you with a certain degree of curiosity, and if you’re already familiar with these writers and novels, leave us a comment with your reviews or recommendations. We’d love to do a little reading of our own.

Remember to stay inspired, ladies and gents, and have a sexy summer!
