Clients come in a lot of shapes and sizes, as you probably know by now. But if you’ve never had an appointment with a guy before, you’ll have no clue how to deal with the men who’ll book you at one point or another. Always make your clients feel understood. Guys want to be accepted for who they are, and many of them can get quite emotional. They’re afraid of showing this part of their personality to their wives, friends or girlfriends. You need to help them feel normal instead of abnormal. Men are expected to be tough and strong at all times, no matter the circumstances. When they’re with you, they want to shed this macho image and be their vulnerable selves. Let them do that and you’ll become their favorite safe haven.

Not all men like to be in charge; some of them would love to hand over the lead to other men or even women. Allow them to do that when they’re with you and you’ll see how quickly they’ll look as if a huge load has been taken off their shoulders. Talk only when he talks; most of the time, he’ll mention stuff he finds really interesting.
