Learning From The Escort Pros - Part II

23.10.14

In our last article about Svetlana’s escort career, we talked about her story: how she moved to the US, what her first jobs were and how she more-or-less accidentally got into the business of escorting. Despite her unplanned entrance into the companion trade, Svetlana quickly rose to the top of the VIP escort list.

The 24-year-old didn’t know anything about escorting, but what she says helped propel her to the top was her “work ethic and attention to detail”. Svetlana took all her experiences as valuable lessons and molded them into a work rhythm, pace and lifestyle that assured her success. Here are those essential steps:

1. You have to spend money to make money. You have to invest in your escort persona before you can expect that asking for a high rate will be okay. Remember, your clients are not buying your body; they are buying an entire experience that only you can offer to them! So act accordingly. Svetlana paid professional photographers even $1.500 to shoot her photos and she even paid someone to write her ad copy. Overall, her monthly advertising costs would end up somewhere around $4.000. And that’s just the marketing. When you’re in this business, you’ll want to live alone, and have a separate room to do your work, apart from your bedroom. Rent is not going to be cheap. The moral of the story: invest in yourself and you will see results.

2. Make stereotypes work for you. Svetlana used the escort names “Anna” and “Angelina”. They sound vaguely foreign but without placing a specific nationality and without being difficult to pronounce. Men invariably think certain girls are certain things, and going forth with only one nationality could bring you a lot of benefits, but also a lot of downfalls. Sure, some clients will think Russians are hot and passionate, but many others will think theyțre cold or cruel. Angelina and Anna sounded beautiful, mysterious, and no one could tell where they were from. Svetlana had the liberty of improvising a little with each new client. She controlled the stereotypes each customer brought by not letting herself be defined by them.

3. Demand the right price. Instead of thinking you’re asking for too much and no one will pay, concentrate on how you can improve the experience you offer. Svetlana says it best: “If you want to make money as an escort, you better deliver something special. I did couples. I offered toys, role-playing, and BDSM.” Mostly, however, Svetlana says she offers understanding. The sex is always the shortest activity when spending time with an escort. “It’s the understanding they’re buying.”

4. Be independent. Agencies will work you hard and take a part of your earnings. Of course, they have their good parts – they screen your clients and do the administrative work, but Svetlana asks if it really is worth the 30%-40% commission for something you can do on your own? Svetlana talks about the girls who work for agencies: “At the end of the summer, they have $50.000, but they had to fuck a lot of guys for that. To me, that’s not worth it. It’s not cost-effective.”

These are the most important aspects Svetlana follows in the escort trade. These guidelines have ensured her a profitable career so far. However, there are still several other little values she follows, which we will elaborate in the following article. Stay tuned!
